A process for controlling an organic material in an aqueous medium comprising contacting the aqueous medium with surface-treated calcium carbonate material or an aqueous suspension comprising surface-treated calcium carbonate material, wherein the surface-treated calcium carbonate material is at least one calcium carbonate-containing material treated with at least one salt of a C5-C28 fatty acid(s) selected from the group consisting of (i) a mono-alcohol primary alkanolamine salt of a C5-C28 fatty acid(s), (ii) a polyethyleneimine salt of a C5-C28 fatty acid(s), and (iii) a mixture thereof. |
