PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission capable of simplifying a clutch structure and improving transmitting efficiency by reducing the number of seal rings.SOLUTION: An automatic transmission includes a second clutch C-2 engaged by pressing and moving a piston member 32 to one side in an axial direction by supplying an engagement pressure to a hydraulic oil chamber 36 for engagement disposed at an outer peripheral side with respect to a central shaft, and released by a return spring 33 pressing and driving the piston member 32 to the other side in the axial direction. The second clutch C-2 has a cylinder member 31 defining the hydraulic oil chamber 36 for engagement with the piston member 32 and provided with an oil passage a62 penetrated at an outer peripheral side of the hydraulic oil chamber 36 for engagement. Oil passages a60, a61 capable of supplying the engagement pressure to the hydraulic oil chamber 36 for engagement through the oil passage a62, are formed at an outer peripheral side of the second clutch C-2, and the engagement pressure can be supplied to the hydraulic oil chamber 36 for engagement, of the second clutch C-2 from the outer peripheral side of the hydraulic oil chamber 36 for engagement. |
