The present invention relates to a method for collaboration-based context-awareness, and more particularly, to a method for collaboration-based context-awareness and a device for the same which are capable of collecting context information of a user by collaborating with a plurality of devices which exist within a predetermined radius, and aware the context of the user using the collected context information. A context-awareness device according to an embodiment of the present invention for the purpose includes: a collaboration interface unit for transmitting and receiving information with at least one device; a context information collection unit for collecting at least one context information; and a context information control unit for transmitting collaboration request information to other devices through the collaboration interface unit if at least one device exists within the predetermined radius, setting collaboration conditions based on response information when the response information are received from the other devices through the collaboration interface unit, and then, controlling the context information collection unit to collect the context information according to the set collaboration conditions.
