A computer-control method for a multi-unit coupling of a rail locomotive is provided. The next port serial number is identified by orderly adding one to a port serial number parameter of a network multi-unit coupling module. A port of a network multi-unit coupling module is identified as the port of the tail end of the train composition when the serial number parameter of the next level port does not respond. After identifying the head carriage and the tail carriage, the terminal resistances of them are connected to complete the physical link configuration of the main multi-unit network. During running the head train will send data request to each carriage regularly, the neighbor normal carriage is commanded to gradually access to non-responding carriages through the redundant alternate network and sends the relevant data through the main multi-unit coupling network if one or several carriages does not respond. The invention simplifies the electric circuit of the multi-unit coupling locomotive, provides intellective configuration of the main multi-unit network, improves the automation degree and intelligent degree of the multi-unit coupling locomotive and improves the information-share ability and the synchronous-control ability among the train composition.
