The present invention relates to an inertia damper for suppressing vibrations in a machine tool, consisting of an outer casing (1), inside which a suspended inertial mass (2) is housed, an elastic element (3) which is rotated by a motor (4) associated with an encoder (5) being arranged inside this inertial mass (2), while pairs of magnets (6) associated with said inertial mass (2) are arranged, the magnets (6) of each pair are separated by means of an electrical conducting plate (7) fixed to the outer casing (1), such that a magnetic field giving rise to damping due to the relative movement with respect to the plate (7) is generated between the magnets (6). |
