The present invention provides an assembly for economically burning solid fuel in a fireplace. The assembly can be lifted onto an existing fire-grate, and comprises; a stacking brazier having (i) a vertical metal back frame supporting a metal reflective fire-shield that together contribute to horizontally confining the solid fuel at its rear, (ii) a vertical metal intermediate frame that facilitates vertical stacking and horizontally confining the solid fuel in a preferred formation between the back and intermediate frames, (iii) a vertical front metal frame including a grill to horizontally confine some of the solid fuel, and (iv) a raised and stepped grate that facilitates ignition of the solid fuel; and the fire-shield bolted to the back frame of the brazier. The assembly allows for burning of the stacked solid fuel at a rate that is more uniform and comfortable than usual formations leading to reduced fuel expenditure and carbon emissions. |
