Continuous and/or discontinuous process for the preparation of the cyclododecatriene comprises conversion of butadiene to a raw cyclododecatriene, in the presence of solvent, at least a catalyst system containing nickel and/or titanium and at least an organometal compound, and adding a compound containing at least an element of V group to the catalyst system, where: the solvent before the addition of the catalyst component contains 10-1000 pm of a polar component (I).
