A cutting apparatus (1) for use in machines for cutting blocks (2) of schistose materials comprises: a cutting actuator unit (4) that exerts a pushing action in a pushing direction on a cutting blade (10) whose blade body has an overall height (h); a support member (7) for said cutting blade (10) interposed between the latter and said actuator unit (4), and defining an inner chamber (8) for said blade body, for the latter to slide between a position outside said chamber and a position inside said chamber; lock means (12) for removably locking said cutting blade (10) to said support member (7); a source (9) of pressurized fluid, feeding such fluid to said chamber (8) for ejection toward said blocks (2); a plurality of ejection notches formed in said blade body parallel to said pushing direction, whose height is smaller than said overall height (h) and designed to connect said chamber (8) with the outside when said cutting blade (10) slides in said chamber (8), thereby forming a front of pressurized fluid facing said blocks, said notches including notches (13) of smaller height (hi) and notches (14) of greater height (h2), said notches (14) of greater height (h2) being mainly formed in a central area of said blade body. |
