<p>A fluid regulating device 100 comprising a valve body 104 defining an inlet 106, an outlet 108, and a throat 110 disposed therebetween. A valve disc 128 is disposed in the valve body 104 and adapted to be displaced relative to the valve body between a primary seating position and a secondary seating position. A valve port 136 is disposed within the throat, the valve port comprising a housing 260 and a cartridge 262. The housing is fixed to the valve body and defines a cavity 274 with a first portion and a second portion. A primary seat 294 is carried by the cartridge which is sealingly engaged by the valve disc when the valve disc is in a primary seating position and the cartridge is in a first position, thereby stopping the flow of fluid through a valve port. A secondary seat 267 is carried by a housing at a location proximate to the outlet end of the cartridge, the secondary seat having a diameter that is the same as the diameter of the first portion of a cavity of the housing, and the secondary seat being sealingly engaged by the valve disc when the valve disc is in a secondary seating position and the cartridge is in a second position, thereby stopping the flow of fluid through the valve port.</p> |
