<p>The invention relates to a method and device for generating early warnings signalling traffic collapses, comprising the following steps: - dynamic estimate of the capacity of narrow points in the road network; - determining the current demand at narrow points; - determining the probable demand for a selectable forecast horizon; - triggering early warnings as soon as the probability of a traffic collapse, resulting from the expected demand and the dynamic capacity, exceeds a threshold value, the warning threshold; - measuring characteristic numbers for assessing the quality of information of early warnings as a function of the method parameters of the early warning system; - establishing a working characteristics of the early warning system; - exact adjustment of the early warning system to the quality requirements of an application by reverting to the working characteristics of the early warning system.</p> |
