摘要 FIELD: electricity.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, particularly devices which convert chemical energy into electrical energy, and can be used in restoration of nickel-cadmium batteries designed to power radio stations, cordless telephones etc. According to the invention, nickel-cadmium batteries are restored using asymmetric alternating current with the ratio of the amplitude of the discharge and charge currents ? and the ratio of the duration of the discharge and charge pulses ? defined separately for each type of battery via a two-factor experiment in the range ?=5-10 and ?=0.1-0.9, respectively. The average value of the asymmetric alternating charging current is equal to the charging current according to the user manual of the battery. The amplitude of the charging current pulse is selected in the range of 1-7 times the rated capacitance depending on the specified operating current of the battery being restored. The charging process is stopped when the amount of charge is 1.5 times more than the battery yielded during the previous charging cycle. Discharge is carried out with direct current in accordance with the user manual of the battery. Cycling continues until capacitance stops increasing.EFFECT: high efficiency and simple process of restoring nickel-cadmium batteries.
