An apparatus and method is provided for receiving a broadcast stream and for storing a plurality of content items, each content item being associated with a programme available in the broadcast stream. Content item information is also received for each content item, including a programme identifier for identifying the programme to which the content item corresponds, and at least one group identifier for identifying at least one group to which the content item corresponds. The group identifier and/or programme identifier may be used to determine whether to store the content item. A plurality of content items may be displayed as a virtual channel, and one or more content items may be displayed when the corresponding programme is selected. The content items may be trailers, teasers, images or webpages and have different formats. The content item information may be in the form of a CRID. |
