<p>A streamer steering device (300) to be attached to a streamer (302) or a source (1020) of a marine seismic survey system. The streamer steering device (300) includes a casing (301) configured to be attached to the streamer (302) or to the source (1020); a wing assembly (304, 306) connected to the casing (301) and having an active surface (311) used to control depth and/or lateral position of the streamer (300); and an actuating mechanism (430) located inside the casing (301) and connected to the wing assembly (304, 306), the actuating mechanism (430) being configured to change a state of the wing assembly (304, 306) from an operational state to a folded state. The active surface (311) has substantially the same area during the operational state and the folded state.</p> |
