A streamer 40 includes: at least one particle motion sensor 50, embedded along the axis of the solid core 24; and at least one pressure sensor (hydrophone) 30, disposed in an outer portion 28. There may be at least two particle motion sensors 50, and they may be configured orthogonally. There may be a stress member 32 between the inner core 24 and outer layer 28. The streamer 40 may include one or more electromagnetic sensors. There may be inner wiring 38 to enable communication to the particle motion sensors. There may be external wiring 39 for supplying power and communicate with the pressure sensors 30. There may be an exterior jacket 55 which may be made of mesh or have cut outs to expose sections of the streamer 40 to water. The outer layer 28 may provide buoyancy to the streamer. The purpose of the invention is to remove ghosting from the received signals. |
