The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a turbine engine shaft from a generally cylindrical metal billet (120), including a step of boring the billet in order to form an axial cylindrical through-hole (128) therein, a step of inserting a cylindrical insert (130) into said hole, said insert being made of a material having a yield stress similar to that of the material of the billet, such that the materials of the insert and billet have substantially the same forging behaviour, a step of hot-forging the billet in order to form a forged blank that is longer than the billet, a step of removing the insert, and a step of machining the blank. |
