The present invention implements an object tracking device with which it is possible to achieve both capability in following an object to be tracked and increased processing speed. This object tracking device comprises: a detailed contour model generation unit (30) which generates a detailed contour model of an object in a first frame; a search location setting unit (31) which sets a plurality of search locations in a second frame; a rough contour model generation unit, (32) which generates a rough contour model from the detailed contour model in each of the plurality of search locations; a likelihood assessment unit (33) which assesses the likelihood of the rough contour model with respect to the detailed contour model; a search location narrowing unit (34) which narrows search locations from among the plurality of search locations on the basis of the likelihood which is assessed by the likelihood assessment unit (33); and an object location identification unit (36) which identifies the location of the object in the second frame from among the search locations which are narrowed by the search location narrowing unit. |
