A session monitoring method based on multicast technologies is disclosed. The method includes: obtaining information about members of a multicast group that can be joined by a user in a session, wherein the session between a network and a member of the multicast group in the session is in an alive state; and checking whether the information about the members of the multicast group in the session includes user information corresponding to the user; if the member information includes the user information corresponding to the user, determining that the session between the network and the user as the member of the multicast group in the session is alive. A session monitoring apparatus, a session monitoring system, and an Access Node (AN) based on multicast technologies are also disclosed. The technical solution under the present invention is based on multicast technologies. A multicast group in a session is set between the user and the network, and the network monitors the information about the members of the multicast group in the session. Therefore, the alive state of the session can be detected based on multicast technologies. |
