Preparation of germ-less or germ-free plastic foil packing (A) comprises sealing the commodity at high pressure, where the plastic foil is a multi-layered polymer foil having at least a two-layered co-extruded sealing layer facing the surface of the commodity, at least an external layer containing heat-sealing material and at least a thick polymeric gas barrier layer with thickness of >=2 mu m.
