A method of applying a photoluminescent coating, wherein at least one photoluminescent layer is applied to the base, characterised in that particular layers are created by applying to the base a layer of a transparent liquid binder (4) with possible additives, and then by applying a photoluminescent powder (5) to the liquid binder (4) by means of compressed air, preferably at a pressure of 3 - 8 bars, and afterwards by seasoning the component photoluminescent layer obtained in this way, and then preferably by applying further photoluminescent layers in the same manner, wherein a thin layer of the binder (4) is applied to the last layer of the photoluminescent powder (5), and again is followed by seasoning. The photoluminescent material, possibly protected from above and from below with a protective layer, containing a photoluminescent powder and a transparent anhydrous binder, preferably in the form of a resin, adhesive or a polymer material, and possibly containing additives in the form of dyes and/or an agent enhancing the luminescence effect, characterised in that it contains at least one photoluminescent layer composed at least of a layer of the binder (4) constituting 3% to 30% by volume and a layer of the photoluminescent powder (5) constituting 70% to 97% by volume, stuck evenly in the binder layer (4). |
