<p>A cooled flameproof power supply apparatus 10 comprises a flameproof enclosure 12 housing a power unit 14 to provide A power supply to a device external to the enclosure. A cooling liquid conduit 26 is provided adjacent the power unit to remove heat from the unit. A flameproof connector 28 provides communication of cooling liquid through a wall of the enclosure, the flameproof connector communicating with the cooling liquid conduit. In an embodiment input and output cabling is included. In a further embodiment a breather is included which permits pressure equalization. In another embodiment positive pressure is maintained within the enclosure. The power supply may be an electric motor.</p> |
