In a microwave heating device, a control portion (7) performs an operation for alternately repeating a sweeping operation for detecting reflected electric power with an electric-power detection portion while changing an oscillation frequency of an oscillation portion and fixing a phase value of a phase variable portion for detecting a reflected-electric-power characteristic with respect to the oscillation portion, and a sweeping operation for detecting reflected electric power with the electric-power detection portion while changing the phase value of the phase variable portion and fixing the oscillation frequency of the oscillation portion for detecting a reflected-electric-power characteristic with respect to the phase value, in order to determine an oscillation frequency and a phase value for use in heating a to-be-heated object.
