1. An optical component, comprising:
a birefringent liquid-crystal layer, which has at least two regions with different optical axes, wherein an optical delay of the liquid-crystal layer in each of the at least two regions depends differently on the angle of observation, wherein at least one region has an optical delay such that, on observation through a polarizer, the at least one region appears violet when viewed from a vertical direction and appears yellow when viewed from an oblique direction within a plane defined by a normal to the liquid-crystal layer and the optical axis of the liquid crystal layer within said at least one region. |
