An overcap (54) for a volatile material dispenser includes a housing (80) adapted to be mounted on a container (52). The container has a valve stem (68) with a discharge end (70). The overcap includes a valve-connecting portion (130) adapted to engage the valve stem and a fixture (150) that extends from the valve-connecting portion. The overcap further includes a trigger (96) attached to the housing by a hinge (98) that is disposed at or below a plane formed by the fixture. A contact portion (120) is disposed in the trigger for interacting with the fixture and applying pressure to the valve-connecting portion to actuate the valve stem.
