In one embodiment, a method of directing calls on a mobile communication device comprises receiving a call signal at the mobile communication device from a short-range enabled communication device operably connected with the mobile communication device, accessing subscriber identity module data of the short-range enabled communication device, preparing an outgoing call signal using the accessed subscriber identity module data of the short-range enabled communication device, establishing a communication session between the short-range enabled communication device and a network, and transmitting the outgoing call signal to the network.

1. A mobile communication device comprising:
a communication subsystem operable to communicate with a wireless network; a short-range communication subsystem operable to communicate with a short-range enabled communication device comprising a first subscriber identity module having a first subscriber identity data associated therewith; and a processor communicably connected to the communication subsystem and to the short-range communication subsystem and operable to:
receive a call signal originating on the short-range enabled communication device operably connected to the mobile communication device via the short-range enabled communication subsystem;determine whether the first subscriber identity data associated with short-range enabled communication device is available and accessed by the mobile communication device from the first subscriber identity module;in response to determining that the first subscriber identity data is available and accessed by the mobile communication device from the first subscriber identity module, establish a communication session between the wireless network and the short-range enabled communication device with the first subscriber identity data while appearing to the wireless network directly as the short-range enabled communication device; andtransmit an outgoing call signal to the wireless network.
