1. An illumination device comprising:
a light emitting device; and a planar illuminated surface adjacent to a cavity to be illuminated by the light emitting device, wherein the light emitting device comprising: a light source; a first light flux controlling member for controlling the distribution of light emitted from the light source; and a second light flux controlling member for controlling the distribution of the light emitted from the first light flux controlling member, wherein the illuminated surface is disposed in parallel to an optical axis of the light source, wherein the first light flux controlling member has a first incidence surface onto which the light emitted from the light source is incident and a first emission surface that is located on a side opposite to the first incidence surface and emits the light incident on the first incidence surface, wherein the second light flux controlling member has a second incidence surface onto which the light emitted from the first light flux controlling member is incident, a second emission surface that is located on a side opposite to the second incidence surface and emits the light incident on the second incidence surface, and a third emission surface that is located on a side opposite to the second incidence surface and emits the light incident on the second incidence surface, wherein the second emission surface is disposed closer to the illuminated surface than the third emission surface, wherein a boundary line between the second emission surface and the third emission surface is perpendicular to a virtual cross-section which includes the optical axis of the light source and is perpendicular to the illuminated surface, and wherein the distance between the second incidence surface and the second emission surface is gradually reduced away from the boundary line. |
