PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent adhesion of foreign matters to a test chart, without adding a cleaning member anew.SOLUTION: When an execution instruction of calibration or characterization is input, a CPU 313 determines that printing should be carried out of a test chart, and prior to formation of the test chart, foreign matter removal processing is executed in which a cleaning sheet CS is introduced into a conveyance guide 136a of an inversion section 136. The cleaning sheet CS is rushed into the conveyance guide 136a of the inversion section 136 so that foreign matters D are extruded or the foreign matters D adhere to the cleaning sheet CS, and since the cleaning sheet CS is ejected out of the apparatus in a state that the foreign matters D are adhered to it, the foreign matters D are removed. |
