PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tread capable of improving low fuel consumption property, wet grip performance, processability and abrasion resistance with good balance, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the same.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a rubber composition for a tread containing a rubber component, silica and a compound represented by the formula (I), and the content of a conjugated diene polymer having a monomer unit based on conjugated diene, a monomer unit based on a compound represented by the formula (1) and a monomer unit based on a specific unsaturated compound is 5 mass% or more in 100 mass% of the rubber component, and the content of the silica is 5 to 150 pts.mass and the content of the compound represented by the formula (I) is 5 to 23 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the rubber component. |
