摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal device that displays high-quality images and has a long product life.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a liquid crystal device 100 includes: an insulating film forming step of forming an insulating film by a chemical vapor phase deposition process using an inorganic gas; and an alignment layer forming step of forming an alignment layer on the insulating film. Since usually the alignment layer has a low density and thereby inferior denseness, a liquid crystal 50 is in contact with the insulating film formed under the alignment layer and is influenced by the insulating film. Therefore, by improving qualities of the insulating film in contact with the liquid crystal 50, degradation of the liquid crystal 50 with lapse of time can be suppressed and the service life of the liquid crystal device 100 can be elongated. Durability of the liquid crystal device 100 having a high contrast ratio and excellent image qualities can be enhanced, and longer service life of the high-quality liquid crystal device 100 or of electronic equipment using the device can be achieved.
