PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which there is room for further improvement in terms of, for example, a more efficient operation in a conventional technology.SOLUTION: An elevator includes: an elevator car; a counter weight; and an attachment/detachment device. The elevator car can move up and down in a hoistway. The counter weight is connected to the elevator car via a main rope, and can move up and down in the hoistway being interlocked with the elevator car. The attachment/detachment device is provided in the hoistway, and it can attach/detach a sub weight to/from the counter weight. The attachment/detachment device has a linear member and a claw-shaped member. The linear member is provided along the upward/downward movement direction of the counter weight. The claw-shaped member is provided at the tip below the vertical direction of the linear member and can integrally rotate with the linear member with a rotation axis along the upward/downward movement direction being the rotational center. The claw-shaped member can rotate between a holding position and a release position by relatively rotating with respect to the sub weight. |
