PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-needle sewing machine which can detect the movements of threads passed through needle bars during operation and during the stop of operation and can thereby detect various kinds of abnormalities.SOLUTION: In a two-needle sewing machine 100, switching to the needle bar driving of one of two needle bars (110 and 120) is performed by operation or setting, and sewing is performed by using a sewing needle (11 or 12) which the selected needle bar includes. The two-needle sewing machine 100 includes two yarn breakage sensors 161 and 162 for detecting the movements of needle threads U1 and U2 fed to the sewing needle 11 of the one needle bar 110 which is selected and driven and the sewing needle 12 of the other needle bar 120 which is stopped and not driven, respectively. A control device 90 (CPU 91) of the sewing machine is enabled to determine the operation state of the two-needle sewing machine on the basis of the driven states of the two needle bars 110 and 120 and the combinations of the movements of the respective needle threads U1 and U2 detected by the two sensors 161 and 162. |
