PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain drivability high while further improving fuel consumption by fuel cut and idle stop.SOLUTION: At the time of performing fuel cut for stopping fuel supply according to the establishment of a fuel cut condition, and of performing an idle stop for stopping idle rotation of an internal combustion engine according to the establishment of an idle stop condition, a transmission gear ratio of an automatic transmission is operated toward a low gear side according to the reduction in vehicle speed. After that, when the idle stop condition is established during the fuel cut, the connection of a clutch is maintained until the rotational frequency of the internal combustion engine drops to the rotational frequency in the vicinity of a limit where hydraulic fluid pressure necessary for maintaining the connection of the clutch can be discharged from a hydraulic pump, and then, the clutch is cut off. |
