PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that detects an input position of an input operation body with an inexpensive and simple configuration without reducing transmissivity of light emitted from a display device.SOLUTION: The display device which molecularly controls a liquid crystal layer arranged between an array substrate and a counter substrate, and controls display of a display area, includes one or two or more detection electrodes that detect the input position of the input operation body relative to the display area and are arranged along a peripheral region of the array substrate or the counter substrate not overlapping with the display area in a vertical direction. Since the detection electrode does not block light passing through the display area, the input position of the input operation body can be detected without reducing transmissivity of light emitted from the display device. |
