PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-walled carbon nanotube having peculiar electronic characteristics and/or optical characteristics.SOLUTION: The single-walled carbon nanotube comprises at least two regions, in which the at least two regions have different characteristics from each other. A vertically aligned single-walled carbon nanotube multilayer film is also disclosed, which includes apparently at least two layers each essentially comprising vertically aligned single-walled carbon nanotubes. The at least two layers are deposited apparently in the same direction as the vertical direction of the vertically aligned single-walled carbon nanotubes, and the single-walled carbon nanotubes of the at least two layers have different characteristics from each other.
