PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface temperature detection system capable of detecting a temperature of a surface with high accuracy, a bearing device, a rotary machine, and a surface temperature detection method.SOLUTION: A surface temperature detection system includes: a temperature measurement unit that has a main temperature sensor provided inside a member having a surface to be a temperature detection object, and at least three sub temperature sensors provided inside the member and separated from the main temperature sensor mutually in different directions; and a surface temperature calculation device that inputs temperatures measured by the main temperature sensor and the sub temperature sensors and calculates the temperature of the surface of the member on the basis of the temperatures.
