PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater that can generate high temperature hot water while suppressing precipitation of scale.SOLUTION: A water heater includes: a refrigerant circuit 3 that is formed by annularly interconnecting a compressor 11 for compressing a refrigerant, a first radiator 12 performing heat exchange between a refrigerant and a heating medium, an expansion device 13 for expanding the refrigerant and an evaporator 14 for evaporating the refrigerant by refrigerant piping and inside of which the refrigerant circulates; a hot water storage tank 21 for storing water; and a heating medium circuit 4 that is formed by annularly interconnecting the first radiator 12, a second radiator 2 performing heat exchange between the heating medium and the water and a circulation device 23 by heating medium piping and inside of which the heating medium circulates. The refrigerant circulating in the refrigerant circuit 3 is carbon dioxide. The heating medium piping is wound around and brought into contact with the outer surface of the hot water storage tank 21, so that the second radiator 22 releases heat of the heating medium to the water within the hot water storage tank 21. Accordingly, while precipitation of scale is suppressed, high temperature water can be generated efficiently. |
