<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine for vehicle capable of improving reliability by promptly completing high voltage generation during load dump.SOLUTION: A load dump protection determination section 111 monitors an output voltage from a vehicle generator, instructs a driver 182 to turn on a MOS transistor forming a lower arm when the output voltage exceeds a first threshold voltage, and instructs the driver 182 to turn off the MOS transistor after OFF for a predetermined time when the output voltage becomes lower than a second threshold voltage which is lower than the first threshold voltage, after exceeding the first threshold voltage. A length of the predetermined time is set variable on the basis of a state of an excitation current determined by an excitation ON/OFF determination section 124.</p> |
