PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a conjugated aromatic polymer having a high molecular weight in a high yield in a short time by carrying out a coupling reaction of one or more monomers.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of producing a conjugated aromatic polymer by mixing one or more monomers with a transition metal or a transition metal compound immobilized on a support and a homogeneous organic ligand containing an atom of the Groups 13 to 16 and polymerizing the monomers by a coupling reaction.
