PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of improving convenience in prohibiting a change in internal environment setting by an input from the outside while invalidating an input at an operation input unit.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: a setting change unit 21 which changes internal environment setting in response to an input at a panel operation unit 5 provided on a body unit or an input from the outside; an operation invalidating unit 23 which invalidates the input at the panel operation unit 5 in response to an input for an invalidation instruction on the panel operation unit 5; and a change prohibition unit 25 which prohibits an input from the outside from changing items of internal environment setting prohibited at the panel operation unit 5 in response to the invalidation of an input.
