<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval system use device (image formation device) capable of outputting a retrieval result in a character size readable by a user, even when the user does not set the character size.SOLUTION: A manuscript is read to generate image data. A character recognition unit 501 recognizes a character written on the manuscript from the image. A display control unit 503 displays the character recognized by the character recognition unit 501 on a display unit 403. An access unit 505 accesses a retrieval system with the character displayed on the display unit 403 and recognized by the character recognition unit 501 as a retrieval word to receive a retrieval result. An output unit (display unit 403, image formation unit 103) outputs the retrieval result to a user. A size determination unit 507 determines a character size corresponding to a size of the character written on the manuscript from character sizes that can be output. An output control unit 511 causes the output unit to output the retrieval result in the determined character size as a character size of the retrieval result.</p> |
