PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of stably obtaining high image quality by surely eliminating the influence of the kind and use environment of a member to be transferred on image quality, without installing a new member.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a drum D, a charging device 11 uniformly charging the surface of the drum D, an exposure device 12 forming an electrostatic latent image on the charged drum D, a developing device 13 developing the electrostatic latent image with toner, a transfer roller 14 to which a transfer voltage is applied and which transfers a toner image from the drum D to a paper P, control means 40 controlling the transfer voltage, and a toner density detection sensor 17 measuring the density of the toner image formed on the surface of the drum D. The toner image for adjusting the transfer voltage is formed in a part of the drum D, after transfer processing, contacted with the paper P, the density of the toner image is detected by the toner density detection sensor 17, and the transfer voltage is adjusted based on the detected density by the control means 40. |
