PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact imaging lens capable of satisfactorily correcting aberrations while having a wide angle of view.SOLUTION: The imaging lens includes, in order from the object side: an object side lens group Gf having a positive refractive power; an aperture stop ST; and an image plane side lens group Gr having a positive refractive power. The object side lens group Gf includes a first lens L1 having a positive refractive power, a second lens L2 having a negative refractive power, and a third lens L3 having a positive refractive power. The image plane side lens group Gr includes a fourth lens L4 having a positive refractive power and a fifth lens L5 having a negative refractive power. When the focal distances of the first to third lenses L1 to L3 are represented by f1, f2 and f3, respectively, and the Abbe numbers of the first to fifth lenses L1 to L5 are represented by &ngr;d1, &ngr;d2, &ngr;d3, &ngr;d4 and &ngr;d5, respectively, the imaging lens satisfies the following conditional expressions: |f2|<f1 and |f2|<f3, and 40<&ngr;d1<70, 40<&ngr;d2<70, 40<&ngr;d3<70, 40<&ngr;d4<70, and 20<&ngr;d5<35. |
