PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress abrasion of thin seal pieces constituting a shaft seal device, and to reduce leakage from a high-pressure side to a low-pressure side.SOLUTION: A shaft seal device 10 dividing a space between a rotor 6 and a stator, into a high-pressure side and a low-pressure side, includes a seal body 12 formed by stacking a plurality of thin seal pieces 20 extended from the stator toward a rotor side in the circumferential direction of the rotor, and a housing 9 fixed to the stator, holding the seal body 12 in a state of surrounding it from a radial outer side, and having a first opposite face 21 opposed to a high pressure-side end side of the seal body 12, and a second opposite face 22 opposed to a low pressure-side end side 20a of the seal body. A high pressure-side clearance t0 between the seal body 12 and the first opposite face 13 is smaller than a low pressure-side clearance t1 between the seal body 12 and the second opposite face 22. Inclined portions 20b gradually inclined to the high-pressure side toward a tip at a rotor side, are respectively formed on the low pressure-side end side 20a of each thin seal piece 20 of the seal body 12. |
