PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high-quality image processing in an image pickup device provided with a plurality of image pickup units differing in a photographing direction and a photographed image display unit, by carrying out white balance processing pertaining to each of the images photographed by each image pickup unit while taking into account the effect of irradiation light from the display unit.SOLUTION: A front face sensor unit 103 captures a front face image of the image pickup device, and a rear face sensor unit 118 captures a front face image of the image pickup device. A front face image processing unit 105 processes a signal derived by capturing the image of a front subject, and a subject luminance calculation unit 106 calculates the luminance of a subject side field angle. A rear face image processing unit 120 processes a signal derived by capturing the image of a photographer, and a photographer detection unit 122 detects the photographer. While the photographer is being detected by the photographer detection unit 122, a control unit 102 exerts control so that when the subject luminance calculated by the subject luminance calculation unit 106 is less than a prescribed threshold, information about the color temperature of light emitted by a display unit 107 is acquired using a monitor color temperature acquisition unit 121 to calculate a white balance correction value, and the calculated value is applied to the image of the photographer side field angle. |
