PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an optimal character string in a display area according to a user, in an easy to understand manner for the user.SOLUTION: A character string display device includes: a user setting information storage unit 33 which stores character strings having similar meaning in association with display permission settings indicating display permission for each user, as user setting information; a character information storage unit 34 which stores a character, a font, display size, and a character width in association with each other as character information; a morphological analysis unit 24 which divides a text having a font and display size specified thereto and designated to be displayed in the display area into character strings by morphological analysis; and a character string replacement unit 25 which displays the character strings divided by the morphological analysis unit 24 to a designated user, on the basis of the user setting information and the character information, and replaces them with character strings so that the text displayed in the display area has a width equal to or smaller than the width of the display area. |
