[Class 65 (ii)] A hinge comprises a sheet metal bracket of channel section having flanges 2 and 3 which extend beyond the web 1 to form a bifurcated end, a sheet metal complementary member having a flange 12 and a web 11 rolled over at one end to form a cylindrical' socket 18 adapted to lie between the parts of the bifurcated end, friction washers 23 and 24 situated between the ends of the socket and the said parts; and a pivot pin 19 non-rotatably connected at one end by means of a key 21 to one of the said parts and having a securing nut 22 on its other end. The bracket and complementary member are provided with tenons which are introduced into slots formed in the fixed and movable metal window frames 4 and 15 respectively .and are secured therein by riveting or by welding. |
