PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal and a control system that are capable of intelligently controlling terminal applications according to whether earphones are connected to the terminal.SOLUTION: A method includes: a step of sensing connection of earphones having a sensor for sensing earphone wearing; a transfer step of transferring, upon detection of earphone connection, a detection signal to the sensor of the earphones; a step of receiving a detection response signal transferred from the earphones; a step of sensing whether the earphones are worn by a user, on the basis of the detection response signal; and a control step of causing, when the earphones are not worn, an application being executed to stop output of an audio signal to the earphones.
