PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of an exhaust emission control device capable of improving estimation accuracy of a trap total amount of an exhaust component per unit time.SOLUTION: Estimation means of the trap total amount of the exhaust component calculates a residual trap possible rate on the basis of the maximum value B of the trap total amount of the exhaust component read from first storage means and the trap total amount of the exhaust component calculated last time; the residual trap possible rate is corrected with a trap characteristic substitutive value P which is read from second storage means as a degree; the corrected residual trap possible rate is multiplied by an inflow A per unit time of a specified exhaust component, which is read from third storage means, to calculate the trap amount per unit time at the present point of time; and the trap amount per unit time at the present point of time is added to the trap total amount calculated last time, and the trap total amount at the present point of time is estimated. |
