PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonflammable electrostatic dust collector composed of a material having low hygroscopicity and excellent workability.SOLUTION: An electrostatic dust collector comprises a charging part to charge dust in an air flow and a dust collecting part to collect charged dust. The dust collecting part comprises a plurality of dust collecting electrode plates and a plurality of high voltage electrode plates alternately aligned in parallel via a spacer and a power supply shaft to apply voltage to a plurality of the high voltage electrode plates. The power supply shaft is made of a core shaft consisting of a metal and a coating body to coat the outside of the core shaft. The coating body is composed of an inorganic substance and has a volume specific resistivity of an order of 10-10&OHgr; cm.
