<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of detecting that the number of labels runs low regardless of the kind of labels.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a guide which guides a recording medium; a damper which applies tension on the recording medium on an upstream in a recording medium conveyance direction of the guide and also on a downstream in a recording medium conveyance direction of a rolled recording medium; a head which forms an image on the recording medium on the downstream in the recording medium conveyance direction of the guide; a platen which is set up while facing the head across a recording medium conveyance passage; a sensor which is turned ON/OFF by the action of the damper when a remaining amount of the recording medium is sufficient; and a control unit which determines that the remaining amount of the recording medium runs low when output of the sensor is not switched to ON or OFF even if the recording medium is conveyed by rotating the platen.</p> |
