When Ptemp acquired this time is larger than a maximum pressure PAmax up to the previous one (S408: Yes), Ptemp is set as PAmax (S410). When elapsed time (Tnow) after starting of sampling reaches a prescribed time (TfCA) (S412: Yes), a common rail pressure after injection (Pafter) is calculated (S414), and a pressure drop amount &Dgr;P is calculated from Pbefore and Pafter, and an actual injection amount Qr is calculated based on &Dgr;P (S416).
